Future-Proofing Our Coastal WetlandsGreenway has been supporting the City of Eureka's efforts to mitigate sea level rise at the Elk River estuary since 2014. This project aims to restore inter-tidal wetland habitats on up to 223 acres of former bay lands, coordinating with multiple stakeholders and property owners. The restoration involves eradicating invasive species and supporting native ecosystems, benefiting wildlife while providing recreational opportunities and enhancing flood protection for the community.
