Greenway spearheaded a strategic planning process for Arcata Fire, involving community members, fire personnel, and board members. This led to the decision to modernize existing facilities instead of pursuing a costly new one. Greenway then designed updated facilities that met current needs while allowing for future growth. Transforming a historical volunteer station into a modern facility for a full-time fire department in Arcata's historical district posed challenges, requiring innovative solutions.

Future-Proofing Our Coastal Wetlands
Greenway has been supporting the City of Eureka's efforts to mitigate sea level rise at the Elk River estuary since 2014. This project aims to restore inter-tidal wetland habitats on up to 223 acres of former bay lands, coordinating with multiple stakeholders and property owners. The restoration involves eradicating invasive species and supporting native ecosystems, benefiting wildlife while providing recreational opportunities and enhancing flood protection for the community.
