Gene Lucas Community Center
A New Community Gathering SpaceGreenway collaborated with the McLean Foundation to realize their vision of a community center on 37 acres near Newburg Park in Fortuna. Together, they developed a comprehensive plan for the campus, encompassing offices, classrooms, event spaces, recreational areas, and wildlife habitats. Over four years, Greenway led the project from master planning to construction management, achieving the client's goal of creating a beautiful gathering place for the Eel River Valley community.
Humboldt Senior Resource Center
Adult Day Health Center Senior Wellness All Under One RoofGreenway partnered with the Humboldt Senior Resource Center to develop a Program for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) facility. The facility offers essential services in a pleasant, natural setting, including an exercise area and full kitchen.
Hoopa Shopping Center
The End of a Food DesertGreenway played a pivotal role in addressing a community food dessert by collaborating closely with the Hoopa Tribal Council. They provided expertise in community engagement, planning, finance, architecture, engineering, and construction management to ensure the successful reopening of the grocery store. This collaborative effort resulted in the Tribe continuing to operate a profitable grocery store, serving the entire community effectively even after Greenway's involvement.
McKinleyville Fire Department
Revitalizing Safety: Upgrading and Expanding McKinleyville Fire Station Greenway undertook the challenge of upgrading and expanding the McKinleyville Fire Station due to the town's rapid growth. This involved doubling the building's size, implementing necessary technology upgrades, and ensuring budget adherence. Upgrades encompassed improved alert systems, enhanced sleeping and cooking facilities, and modernized station functionality.
Arcata Fire Department
Elevating Safety: Revitalizing Arcata Fire Station Greenway spearheaded a strategic planning process for Arcata Fire, involving community members, fire personnel, and board members. This led to the decision to modernize existing facilities instead of pursuing a costly new one. Greenway then designed updated facilities that met current needs while allowing for future growth. Transforming a historical volunteer station into a modern facility for a full-time fire department in Arcata's historical district posed challenges, requiring innovative solutions.
