As Greenway’s Office Manager, Julie maintains information management efforts for the company and provides administrative support for the company concerning day-to-day business operations as well as projects.
Before joining Greenway, Julie spent the majority of her career in the field of medical support, including being a staff coordinator for a multi-specialty clinic as well as owning her own local medical transcription business. From this background, she brings strong organizational, communication and collaborative skills to her job as Office Manager.
Julie was born, raised and attended college in Humboldt County. She has made Arcata her home for the majority of her life, with the exception of living and working seven years in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has traveled across the US, as well as from the Eiffel Tower to the top of the Chichen Itza Pyramid in the Yucatan. As a child, she explored the area’s beaches, forests, rivers and mountains with her family on foot and on horseback. These experiences gave Julie a foundation in valuing all that the North Coast has to offer.
Her passion for enjoying the outdoors with her family led Julie to volunteer for the City of Arcata’s Open Space and Agriculture committee where she served for six years, the last two as committee chair. During this time, the committee advised the city on aspects of the Ridge Trail, the Western Greenbelt Plan, sea level rise and its effects on open space and agriculture lands, as well as various development projects and proposed land acquisitions.
Julie has also been actively involved in schools in Humboldt County, serving on school site council, as various PTO officers, on school stakeholder committees and hiring committees, as well as helping to run athletic tournaments.
Julie lives in Arcata with her husband Ron, and daughters Rachel and Alley. In her time away from Greenway she enjoys gardening, traveling and riding her horse on the trails of Humboldt County.
